About Rahul
An Alumnus of Harvard Business School, IIM Calcutta, and ESSEC Business School Paris, Rahul Narvekar has had an interesting life journey so far. A first-generation entrepreneur, Rahul never had it easy. Born and raised in Mumbai by a hard-working lower-middle-class Maharashtrian, he lived in a chawl and every day was a struggle. Yet one thing was certain – Rahul was clear that he would write his life’s blueprint. Early on, he started working odd jobs, and each one turned out to be colossal learning and more importantly, a milestone towards his final goal. From a delivery boy to a ward boy in the hospital, to taking tuition and selling crackers, lanterns, and watermelons, Rahul learned the ropes of business, profit and revenue early on in life. His balance sheet may have run in 3 figures, but he surely understood the nuances of earning and investing wisely at an early age. Rahul firmly believed that “the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams”.
A frequent speaker to corporates, campuses, and various forums including twice at the UN, Harvard Business School, and TEDx Rahul has a son Rian Rao Narvekar and 3 dogs. He runs half marathons and 100 kms trail walks. He is also the first person in the world with sleep apnea to do the Everest Base Camp trek! When you try to tell him that this does seem like an impossible dream, you are taken aback by his effervescent smile and undying optimism. Having experienced so much difficulty at every stage, be it hand-to-mouth living during childhood or losing his wife C Pallavi Rao, Rahul believes he is truly blessed. Any success that came Rahul’s way was like the cherry on top as he never felt dissuaded or discouraged. For him, optimism is not a mindset; it was and is a behavior.
